About coaching....

This coaching pulls together 25 years of experience in teaching and counselling and enhances it with 5 years of focused learning from some of the best coaches in the world:

  1. Professor Steve Peters and his Chimp Paradox, explaining so accessibly how the brain works and influences our thinking and behaviour;
  2. Nancy Kline and her Thinking Environment, pinpointing the '10 Components' our brains crave in order to think freely in wave after wave and do what they do best - 'think independently wherever they are and whomever they are with';
  3. And Tony Robbins, unearthing limiting beliefs and assumptions we've carried with us for years and enabling us to take massive action to forge the future we desire.

It took me 40 years to realise (because I was explicitly taught) that not every thought or feeling we have is the truth about ourselves, others or our situations.  It feels like it at the time, but our thought life is littered with assumptions and beliefs, many of which are negative and very unhelpful...and there are lots of them!  And they have become habits!

This powerful brain we all have needs owning and managing.  If we don't learn to manage it...our life can very soon resemble a car crash....daily!  At best - a high speed car chase.  At worst - we get totally lost, run out of fuel (energy) and our wheels drop off.

I learned the hard way - amidst circumstances so extreme they nearly overwhelmed me.  I see that same overwhelm in others and I have seen it increase over the 25 years I have been in education.

It simply does not have to be that way.  In the same way we learn to walk and read and write and speak.....FIRST we need to learn to manage our thinking and not leave it to chance...or even worse...to others!

Coaching has taught me that there are solutions that are far more accessible than we think, and can help before the need for therapy, special needs, counselling; or ultimately....safeguarding.

Put simply.....

Our thoughts directly influence our feelings and emotions.

Our feelings and emotions affect every choice and decision we make.

The choices and decisions we make determine the life we experience.

Change your thoughts, change your life......I did!

'I have learned many things during these sessions but one thing that stands out is how to reach my full potential and ignore distraction.  I also learned what sort of environment I like to work in.  If you lock something really precious in a safe and forget the code, you try and try to remember it but you get down because you've lost it.  Then one day someone comes up to you and tells you the code - you can finally get it out'
